How to Use Geo Location for Time Tracking on Mobile
Make time tracking easier than ever by taking advantage of geo location technology on the mobile app. When location services are enabled for Houzz Pro, you'll be prompted to clock in/out when you arrive at and leave project locations, as well as see projects 'Near You' at the top of your projects list for quick access.
Location services must be enabled for the Houzz Pro app in order for these features to work.
Enabling Location Services for Houzz Pro App
To turn on location services, you have a few options; we recommend Option 2 to take full advantage of the geo location features on the app.
Option 1: First, open the Houzz Pro app and find the Time Clocks section on the homepage; if you haven't previously turned on/off location services, you will see a prompt within Time Clocks that says "Allow Location Services". Tap here to start the process.
Next, tap "Allow While Using the App".
You will be directed to another screen where you can choose "Allow Once" or "Allow While Using App". We highly suggest choosing "Allow While Using App" to benefit from the features every time you use the app.
Option 2: Within the Settings on your mobile device, locate the Houzz Pro app, then tap Location. Under Allow Location Access, you can choose "While Using the App" or "Always". We highly recommend choosing "Always", even if you previously set "While Using the App" via the Houzz Pro app in Option 1. Always allowing location access will let your device detect when you are within close proximity to a project location and prompt you to clock in/out so you never forget to log time when out of the office.

How close to a project location do I need to be for these features to work?
The 'Near You' badge on projects and clock in/out notifications will occur at various distances to project sites if you have location services enabled for the app. The distances to trigger these features are as follows:
- 10km > 'Near You' badge on projects within this range that are also sorted to the top of your projects list for quick access.
- 150m > Notification for clocking in/out (Stopwatch) when in proximity to a project location. This will be in-app and a push notification if you have push notifications enabled for Houzz Pro.
