How to Organise Projects with Tags

Keeping track of your projects is a key part of running an efficient and successful business. With Houzz Pro, you can use tags to organise your projects. Tags allow you to group projects in an easy-to-understand way — you can customise the tags so they best support your company's internal processes.

Here's how it works: You create custom tags (e.g. custom stages or statuses) that fit your team's workflow. Once created, you can quickly apply these tags to relevant projects, then easily filter and sort by tags to find projects more efficiently.

Let's take a look at how to create and manage project tags.

Create and Add Project Tags

You can create new tags or add existing tags to a project from either the individual project page itself, or from the All Projects page.

From Project Page

To edit tags from the project, click on the Projects icon in the left navigation, then select the relevant project.

Once on the project overview page, there are two ways to view and edit project tags:

  • Click the Gear icon underneath the project name, then scroll down to the Project Tags section in Project Details.
  • Scroll down to the Tags section in the right menu, then click Edit.

From All Projects Page

To edit tags from the All Projects page, click the Projects icon in your left navigation.

Once on the All Projects list, click on Add Tags in the Tags column on the desired project, or open the project details by clicking on the project name.

The project overview page will appear. In the Project Tags section, use the input field to select an existing tag from the dropdown menu and add it to the project. You can apply multiple tags to a single project.

To create a new tag, type the desired tag name into the input field and hit Enter/Return or click "Create Tag [name]" to add it to your tag list.

Manage Project Tags

To edit or delete a project tag, you will need to access the Manage Tags modal. You can open this by selecting Manage Tags at the bottom of the Projects Tags dropdown menu.

In the Manage Tags modal, click the pencil icon to change a tag name, or click the trash icon to delete a tag. Deleting a tag will remove it from projects it is currently applied to and cannot be undone.

Filter Projects by Tags

Once you apply one or more tags to a project, you will see them in the Tags column in the main project list. To quickly filter your projects by a single tag, click directly on the desired tag, and your results will be automatically filtered. You can also use the Tags filter at the top of the list to apply one or more tag filters.
