How to Use Selection Boards on the Mobile App

In the Houzz Pro mobile app you can view your selection boards as well as utilise most of the features that are crucial for the on-the-go experience, whether it's shopping for items, client meetings or on-site working. The selections board features available in the app (iOS only at this time) include:

• Approve, decline, or reset selections
• Edit room budgets
• Toggle board views between gallery and tile layouts
• Add and reply to comments
• Apply filters (approval status, item type)
• Update board information
• Item-specific actions (add items to the board’s budget, change card sizes, hide or show items to clients, remove items from boards, delete items from projects)
• Sharing, publishing, or unpublishing boards

Some actions will not be available on the app and will need to be completed in the desktop experience, including:

• Creating a new selections board
• Adding new items and rearranging them
• Creating, editing, and rearranging sections
• Editing descriptions for mood boards and floor plans
• Converting boards to financial documents
• Moving items to different boards

Access Selection Boards on Mobile

To find and open a selections board on the mobile app, scroll down on your homepage (or a project overview page) until you reach the Selection Boards section. You can tap directly on one of your most recent boards or tap the section title to view all selection boards. You can also tap the More icon at the bottom of your homepage, then tap Selection Boards to view all.

Within the Selection Boards section you can filter by project and assignees, use the sort function or search to quickly find the board(s) you're looking for. Tap any board to open it.

Approve, Decline or Reset Selections

Within a selections board on the app, you can approve, decline or reset the status for items. To approve or decline an item, tap the red X (decline) or the green checkmark (approve) on the item card.

To reset or change the approval status, tap on the item to see the expanded view, then tap the three dots to the right of the status at the bottom of the screen. Select the new approval status or tap Reset Selection to remove any status.

Note: If an item is already in process, the approval cannot be edited on the selections board — you must edit the item on the document mentioned when tapping the approval status.

Edit Room Budgets

To edit the room budget on a selections board, tap Edit in the Budget section at the top of your board.

From here you can adjust the budget, select if you want tax (GST) and shipping included in the total, and see a breakdown of the total.

Change Board View

You have the option to change the selections board view on the mobile app to suit yours needs. To do so, click the board view icon in the top right of the board to toggle between gallery and tile view.

Thumbnails will depend on the size set on each item.

Add and Reply to Comments

To view, reply to and add new comments on an item, tap the item tile you wish you comment on, then tap the comment icon in the top right of the tile.

Here you can view all comments from clients or team members by tapping the corresponding tab at the top of the page. To leave a new comment, type your message in the field at the bottom of the page and tap send.

Apply Filters

Use the filter options at the top of your selections board to quickly find items or only show certain things. You can filter by approval status and item type (products, floor plans, mood boards etc).

Edit Board Information

To change selections board information, including title, assignees, description and cover image, as well as view the board's activity feed, tap the three dots at the top right of the board to option your options menu, then select Board Info.

From here you can tap into any field to make changes.

Item-Specific Actions

To access item-specific actions, tap on any item to open a detailed view. Here you can add the item to the budget (select the checkbox), tap the price to see the total breakdown, and view any description, product link, comments and linked documents.

For more item options, tap the three dots at the top right of the item card to access the Options menus, which includes:

• Change card size
• Fit Image to Width/Height
• Set as Cover Image for Board
• Set as Cover Image for Card
• Hide from Client
• Remove from Board
• Delete from Project

Share Selections Board on Mobile

To share a selections board from the mobile app, open the board you wish to share and tap the Share icon at the top right of the page to see your options.
